For more information regarding Work Experience for Year 11 students please contact Mrs G Anderson, Head of Careers.

The Department for Employment and Learning’s Careers Service has developed three new web pages on work experience to support pupils, parents and employers. These include how to source a work experience placement, how to contact an employer, how to prepare for the placement and what to do during and after a placement.

The pages can be accessed via the link below:
http://www.nidirect.gov.uk/work-experience

In addition web pages have also been developed for parents/guardians who are supporting their child through the work experience process. The pages contain sections which explain the purpose of work experience, skills in demand and how to source a work placement.

Further information can be found by clicking on the link below:

A separate web page for employers has been created on the NIBusinessInfo website to provide support to employers in planning and organising work experience. The webpage provides advice on a range of topics such as how to structure a work experience placement, information young people need from the employer before they begin their placement, and health and safety requirements.
