Get your head ‘in gear’ and get reading for World Book Day

E-mail Print

World Book Day 2013 at Bangor Academy This week we celebrated the joys of reading with a 40 minute period where the whole school downed tools to read.

Pens were put away, computers shut down and we all got 'sitting comfortably' to enjoy a good read. The following day everyone arrived at school with whatever ridiculous head gear they could find, paying a pound for the privilege and in the process raising funds for Book Aid International. This charity donates books to under privileged children and adults in Africa who wouldn't normally have access to books. Hopefully the silly head gear will help us all remember that, with access to good books and a little time, we can encourage and support everyone to read any place, anywhere and in any attire!
