Bangor Academy Goes Dutch


Exchange trip forges new friendshipsExchange trip forges new friendships.  Bangor Academy‚Äôs 9A1 class welcomed their Dutch counterparts from Jac P. Thijsse College in the Netherlands for a four day exchange trip.

The pupils have been in contact through the International Schools e-twinning scheme which allows schools to build educational relationships with schools in other countries.  The Academy pupils have been speaking to their Dutch counterparts since Easter 2013; making regular contact via skype and email in preparation for this much anticipated visit. Pupils and teachers enjoyed  a  packed itinerary of shared excursions and lessons for the four days of the trip. Tours of to see the sights of North Down and Belfast culminated with a visit to the Titanic Experience and an open top bus tour before the  Dutch contingent returned to Holland.
