Academy Students Jet off to ChinaTwo excited Academy students are flying to China for two weeks as part of the University of Ulster Confucius Institute’s Study China Programme 2017.

Year 13 pupils, Megan Dunn and Nadean Christie will be accompanied by their teacher, Emma Coulter (International Schools Co-ordinator at Bangor Academy), as they explore three cities on the Chinese mainland; Huangshi, Wuhan and the capital, Beijing.

The packed itinerary of events includes studying Mandarin, diving into China’s many delicious and diverse cuisines, experiencing Chinese culture and visiting some of China’s most beautiful landmarks. The girls are joining students from Lagan and the South Western Regional College for their  east Asian adventure. This trip of a lifetime will see them doing everything from calligraphy to paper cutting; cogitating the philosophy of Confucius to bracing themselves for the speed of the  bullet train to Beijing. To say they are excited is probably an understatement!
