Mood Matters Coffee Morning Raises Funds and Awareness of Mental Health Issues

E-mail Print

Fundraising for Mood Matters EventBangor Academy Sixth Form pupils have been learning valuable lessons about caring for their own and others' mental health. As examinations approach and students begin to feel the pressure mount, we decided to take a proactive approach to 'mood matters'.

All our Sixth Formers attended workshops run by local charity, Aware Defeat Depression. This organisation aims to raise awareness, challenge stereo-types, de-stigmatise mental health issues and offer support to anyone who feels depressed or want to help someone else who is. And raising awareness didn't stop there, as Sixth Form organised a staff coffee morning to raise funds for the charity too.
