Mr M Pitts celebrates successInvolving every pupil and member of staff in the school, this entrepreneurial challenge from Business in the Community kept Bangor Academy pupils and staff busy right up until the deadline on 17th September.

The Academy was the only school to take up the challenge. Principal, Matthew Pitts, said: "I was really proud to receive the third place trophy when you consider M&S and Boots scooped the first and second spots. We really held our own in a competition against big national companies.

This challenge enabled us to get out into the community to fundraise and increase awareness of the great work ActionCancer does. It really brought pupils, staff and parents together. I was impressed at the energy and enthusiasm we all put into each activity from car washing to clothes bag collections, sponsored walks, face painting and selling ceramics. I would like to thank everyone who took part, donated, advised and organised. I would also like to thank Hilary Hanberry from BITCNI and Alan Leslie from Action Cancer Bangor."
