Amber storms the first heat of the Rotary Youth Leadership Development competition.

Amber Hind storms the first heat of the Rotary Youth Leadership Development competition.Year 13 A-Level student, Amber has just won the Club Final stage of the Rotary Club’s prestigious Youth Leadership competition.

She beat stiff competition to be judged as the best interviewee against pupils from Glenlola, St. Columbanus’ and Bangor Grammar. Stephen Connolly, Secretary of the Rotary Club of Bangor, praised the Bangor Academy Sixth Former’s performance in the interviews held at Bangor Golf Club:

“Amber won the club heat of this competition in the teeth of ferocious competition. I am delighted for her and offer both her and the School my warmest congratulations. . . The interview panel was very impressed.”

Amber is now through to the Zone Final to be held in the Stormont Hotel later this month; success in which could see Amber heading to Strasbourg for the international leg of the competition.
