Queen's AcademySeven AS Level students at Bangor Academy are well on the path to realising their plans for a university education as they received news of their acceptance onto the Queen's Academy Programme.

The programme means they will attend Queen's University, Belfast for two weeks during the summer holidays to sample university life.

This programme was set up to support Year 13 students who want to maximise their potential to progress to third-level education at institutions like Queen's. It aims to build academic and personal confidence and give students an insight into university life as they team up with their Queen's University 'buddy'.

A series of workshops and master classes will develop skills, whilst help with individual learning plans will widen career planning and choices. Fun residential activities are also planned to broaden horizons as the Bangor Academy participants will meet like-minded pupils from schools all over Northern Ireland.
