Shared Education - North Down Schools pool resources to inspire pupils with literary and film aspirations.

North Down Schools pool resources to inspire pupils with literary and film aspirations.

Academy book lovers and film buffs are looking forward to two fabulous opportunities to meet real people doing the jobs some of them dream about for their own futures.

Our library's most enthusiastic junior readers will join their peers at Bangor Grammar along with pupils from St. Columbanus' to meet author Paedar O'Guilin (author of teen fantasy-adventure novel, 'The Call'). They have been reading his novel and can't wait to pose questions to the author in person.

In another Shared Education event on the same day, our Moving Image Arts and Film Studies students will get to meet film Locations Manager, Catherine Geary who has worked on the recent Star Wars film, Sky Fall and the Mission Impossible franchise, not to mention that controversial Rihanna video shoot just outside Bangor. We can't wait to get such a valuable insight into how you find stunning locations; work out the logistics of moving a full cast, crew and A-list stars to a location; film what you need and remove the whole operation so it looks like you were never there in the first place!
