The Bangor Academy Children In Need collection totalled an amazing £735.   Thanks to all students and staff who contributed.  The Sixth Form Charity Committee were crawling all over school in their efforts to raise funds for Children in Need.

Bangor Academy Scoops National Training Award - or our Reading Partnership ‘Oscar’ as we like to call it!

We’re celebrating official recognition from the Department of Employment and Learning as they announce the winners of the 2010 National Training Awards.

Year 11 visits Opportunity Europe and Beyond 2010Opportunity Europe provided lots of food for thought for Year 11 - quite literally judging by all the foreign delicacies they sampled!

Year 11 Modern Language students sampled food, picked up a few Salsa moves, explored how to volunteer at the 2010 Olympics and tried out their Spanish at the annual Opportunity Europe Fair at St George’s Market.

Author Chris Bradford visits Bangor AcademyYear 8 students met the black belt of junior fiction, Chris Bradford in October 2010.

Blockbuster author, Chris Bradford, visited Bangor Academy to tell us all about his Young Samurai series of action - adventure stories set in 17th century Japan.  His latest instalment in the Young Samurai series, ‘The Ring of Earth’ hit the shops in August. If you are looking for an early stocking filler idea for 10 -15 year olds, one of Bradshaw’s riveting reads could be the answer!
